Poster Analysis - Introduction

I have chosen posters from different genres to analyse, to see if regardless of genre they share some of the same conventions. This will later help me with what conventions to include in my poster to make it appear more authentic.

I have chosen posters marketing films from a range of genres including war, melodrama, animation, adventure, thriller and horror. Even though these are very different styles of film, my initial thoughts are that they share almost identical conventions in terms of layout and design features.
